Donation of Military Memorabilia

IMG_3145The Kenmore-Moggill RSL Sub-Branch has built up quite a collection of military memorabilia which is permanently displayed in the Branch Headquarters 2603 Moggill Road Pinjarra Hills.  There is also a collection of historical military documents and compendiums of some local well known ex service men and women and other interesting Veterans on display for members and visitors to enjoy.  Additionally,  there is a very well organised military library, both non-fiction and fiction books, and a very large collection of DVD’s and videos.

The Sub-Branch regularly hosts local schools (primary and secondary) and other groups who are given tours of the facility with a detailed commentary of the origins, history and use of the displayed items.

Most of the items held have been donated by members, or bequeathed by families following their passing.  Compendiums  have been patiently researched by current members over quite a long period.

The latest donation comes from Bert Robertson.  He donated a large number of DVD’s and books (picture insert) which are now available at the Sub-Branch for others to enjoy into the future.  Bert was well known in Brisbane during the 1960s thru to 1980s as he was a popular broadcaster at a number of Brisbane radio stations including 4BC.  More recently, Bert has been residing at St Andrews Lutheran Aged Care facility, Burleigh Heads.

We thank Bert for his wonderful donation.
