The Australian Government Department of Defence ‘Honours & Awards’ provides medallic recognition to current serving and discharged Australian Defence Force personnel and Defence civilians. Awards are issued from the Australian and Imperial honours and awards systems from World War One to current day. The Department develops Defence honours and awards policies and provides advice to Government on honours and awards issues.
It has been brought to our attention that a number of RSL Sub Branches are continuing to submit outdated applications for Defence medals. This means that the required information is not provided, and the application and approval process is slowed down as a result.
